Was recommended by my niece, and glad she did. Typical mom and pop style. Low budget interior, but I'm not there for the decor. Pupusas were excellent, even after the 20 min drive home. If you're in the valley, we'll worth the drive.

One of the best restaurants I went to while in Cat City for Coachella. If you don't want to pay exorbitant amounts of money for sub bar food at the festival, go to this place for a pre game meal. Your tastebuds will thank you. I'm usually not a fan of hard shell tacos but their beef tacos had fall-off-the-bone meat, and crispy crunchy taco shells that I haven't had anywhere else. Their specials center around pupusas, but those tacos won over my palate. Ended up coming here twice because of the value and taste. The waitstaff is extremely nice and we left with some temporary tattoos from the quarter machines which apparently haven't been serviced in 2+ years. Got to relive a part of my childhood here. 5/5 highly recommend!

If you are in cathedral city and don't come here.... You slippin' this place is wonderful, the gentleman at the counter are very courteous and polite. They are well knowledgeable of their products and their service is superb. Coming from Los Angeles the pupusas are expensive, but if you're in Palm Springs on a family vacation you can't put a price on quality. To say the least I got a bang for my buck. And I got a taste from home. Being so far away from pupuseras you can't really argue they have the best pupusas in town and I'm sure they know it I know it and soon you will know it!. Without a doubt this spot is a must! And they have beer to go for sale!!!!

We've eaten here several times but always forget to leave a review. The staff is friendly and attentive, they always have delicious agua frescas, and the food is great. While the Mexican offerings on the menu are delightful, it's the pupusas we are all here for. We spent a few weeks in El Salvador years ago and I havent been able to find pupusas that live up to my memory... until we discovered El Guanaquito. Our 6yo daughter loves the mini pupusas and always gets a side of beans while we love the loroco y jalapeno and the revuelta. The curtido is fresh and delicious and we always have to ask for more! This is a family favorite, so much so that our daughter chose El Guanaquito for her 6th birthday celebration!

The service was great, the lady at the register who also took my phone order was very nice and when I walked in attended to me quickly. This was my first time eating from here and the food was great, I'll definitely be going back. Tenía años viviendo en esta área y nunca sabía que estaban en este edificio, pero ahora que fui y estaba bien el servicio y la comida, por seguro boy a regresar.

Great pupusas! Have tried them all, my favorite are the shrimp ones..yum the sauce & verdura that comes with them are good too!! We tried their Gorditas, both of Pastor & Asada, they were ok, very lil flavor; I would just stick to the Salvadorean pupusas; the other thing their menu online or here does not match the prices we were charged so maybe update the menu online

Kind of a hole in the wall, albeit a clean one. We all know that's where you get the best, most authentic food. Their service was friendly and the pupusas were delicious! It took a while to get them, but they were so worth the wait. They were hot and steamy and fresh. Free chips and salsa helped with the wait. The place is legit!
